Wormit Trout Fishery is a private fly fishing venue, offering a low-rod allocation for a more exclusive and relaxed experience. We cater to both experienced and novice anglers through club bookings, competitions, corporate events, and bespoke fishing days. Limited day tickets are also available on select days, requiring advance booking. With a maximum of 12 rods per day across 5–6 acres, anglers can enjoy a low-pressure fishing environment. Our facilities include a lodge with a wood burner, toilet facilities, and on-site parking, all within easy reach of St Andrews and Dundee

Day Ticket Pricing:
November to March: £25 per day (Catch & Release)
April to October: £29.50 per day (Catch & Release)
April to October: £22.00 per evening (Catch & Release)
Kill Ticket Add-On:
Pre-pay £7 per rainbow trout (under 5lb) if you’d like to take one or more home.

Fishing Times:
FULL DAY PERMITS: Sunrise – 30 mins until sunset + 30 minutes
EVENING ONLY PERMITS: 4.30pm until sunset + 30 minutes
Important Notes:
- Fly fishing only.
- Barbless hooks are required (unless pre-paid to keep a fish)
- Limited to 12 rods per day to ensure a premium experience
- No rod sharing allowed
- Please familiarise yourself with the day ticket rules
- Only Rainbow Trout may be retained on the kill ticket.
Day & Evening Permits – Book in Advance
Book Your Trout Fishing Online
Individual anglers can now choose between day and evening permits, available Thursday to Sunday. All bookings must be made in advance via our online system. We do not accept turn-up-on-the-day fishing unless availability is clearly shown online. This structured approach allows us to manage the fishery responsibly while ensuring every angler enjoys a high-quality experience.
Rod numbers are strictly limited to 12 per session, preserving the space, silence, and solitude that make Wormit such a unique place to fish. The proprietor may occasionally allocate up to 2 additional house rods for personal or promotional use at their discretion.

Day permits run from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset, offering a full day’s catch-and-release fly fishing, with the option to pre-purchase fish for the table.

Evening permits are available Thursday and Friday from 4.30pm until dusk, ideal for those chasing the magic of a golden-hour take.
Permits are limited and demand is high—early booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.
