Modern Slavery Statement

This policy sets out Wormit Trout Fishery’ commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chains.

Modern Slavery Statement

Effective date: 20 January 2025

1. Introduction

Wormit Trout Fishery is committed to ethical business practices, fair treatment and responsible supply chain management. We support efforts to prevent modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking and expect the same standards from those we work with.

This statement explains the steps we take to reduce the risk of modern slavery within our business and supply chains.

2. Our Organisation

Wormit Trout Fishery operates as a small trout fishery in North Fife, providing fly fishing, hosted experiences, private bookings, club days and related services.

Our supply chains are limited and generally include local or UK-based suppliers, such as fishery suppliers, food and hospitality providers, equipment suppliers, professional advisers, contractors and digital service providers. While we consider the risk of modern slavery in our direct operations to be low, we remain aware of our responsibilities and expect fair, lawful and ethical conduct from suppliers and partners.

3. Our Commitments

We are committed to:

  • Legal compliance: complying with relevant legislation and guidance relating to modern slavery, employment and fair working practices.
  • Responsible suppliers: working with reputable suppliers and service providers wherever possible.
  • Fair treatment: treating workers, contractors, suppliers and guests with respect and dignity.
  • Awareness: remaining alert to potential concerns and encouraging concerns to be reported.
  • Action: reviewing concerns seriously and taking appropriate steps where issues are identified.

4. Risk Assessment & Mitigation

To help reduce risk, we aim to:

  • Use local, reputable and established suppliers where practical.
  • Consider ethical standards when choosing contractors, suppliers and service providers.
  • Raise concerns directly with suppliers where practices appear inconsistent with our standards.
  • Review supplier relationships where serious concerns arise.
  • Keep our own working practices fair, lawful and transparent.

5. Reporting Concerns

If you have concerns about modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking or unethical practices connected to Wormit Trout Fishery, please contact us confidentially.

Email: fishery@salmoscotland.co.uk

We will review concerns carefully and take appropriate action where required.

6. Continuous Improvement

We will review this statement and our practices periodically to ensure they remain appropriate for the size, nature and risk profile of the business.

7. Approval

This statement has been reviewed and approved by the management of Wormit Trout Fishery and will be reviewed as required.
