Our hosted Experience Days are designed to give you a relaxed, premium day on the water — with expert guidance, quality equipment, and a personal welcome. These terms ensure we can deliver that standard every time.

Experience Days Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to hosted fly fishing experiences at Wormit Trout Fishery, including half-day experiences, full-day experiences, voucher redemptions and private hosted sessions.

1. Bookings & Payments

  • A booking is only confirmed once availability has been agreed and payment, voucher redemption or invoice confirmation has been completed.
  • For private or bespoke hosted experiences, a deposit may be required to secure the date.
  • Any remaining balance must be paid by the agreed due date before the experience.
  • Payment may be made by debit/credit card, bank transfer or agreed payment link. American Express is not accepted.

2. Voucher Redemptions

  • Gift vouchers must be redeemed within their stated validity period.
  • Voucher bookings are subject to availability and must be arranged in advance.
  • A voucher does not guarantee availability on a specific date.
  • If the chosen experience costs more than the voucher value, the balance must be paid before the booking is confirmed.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • More than 30 days before the booked date: rescheduling or refund may be available, less any agreed non-refundable deposit or costs already incurred.
  • 14 to 30 days before the booked date: rescheduling may be offered subject to availability. Refunds may be reduced to reflect guide, venue or catering commitments.
  • Less than 14 days before the booked date: refunds are not normally available.
  • Rescheduling is subject to fishery, guide and weather availability.
  • Where catering, transport or third-party services have been arranged, their own cancellation terms may apply.

4. Weather, Fish Welfare & Fishery Closures

  • Fly fishing is an outdoor activity and may continue in normal Scottish weather.
  • The fishery may postpone or transfer a booking if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, including high winds, lightning, severe weather, fish welfare concerns, high water temperatures or essential maintenance.
  • If the fishery postpones a session, we will work with you to arrange a suitable alternative date.

5. What’s Included

  • Hosted fly fishing session as described in your booking.
  • Use of appropriate rods, reels, lines, flies and landing nets where required.
  • Fly casting tuition and guided fishing support.
  • Fishery access for the agreed session time.
  • Basic refreshments where included or agreed.
  • Fish option only where specifically included in your booking.

6. Arrival, Access & Parking

  • Please arrive at the agreed time stated in your booking confirmation.
  • Use the anglers’ car park unless instructed otherwise.
  • Blue Badge parking or closer access must be arranged in advance.
  • The hut and facilities must be left clean and tidy.

7. Fishery Rules & Fish Care

  • All guests must follow the Fishery Rules.
  • Fly fishing only.
  • Barbless or properly de-barbed hooks are required.
  • Fish must be handled carefully and kept in the water wherever possible.
  • Brown trout, tiger trout and larger trout must be returned unless agreed otherwise by the fishery.
  • The host or guide’s fish care instructions must be followed at all times.

8. Children & Minors

  • Under-17s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Parents or guardians remain responsible for minors throughout the visit.
  • Children must follow all safety and fishery instructions.

9. Alcohol, Drugs & Conduct

  • No fishing under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • No personal alcohol is permitted unless specifically agreed as part of an arranged private event.
  • Unsafe, disrespectful or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the fishery without refund.
  • Littering, poor fish care or deliberate rule breaches may result in the session being ended.

10. Catering & Dietary Requirements

  • Catering is only included where stated or agreed in advance.
  • Dietary requirements must be confirmed before the booking date.
  • Where catering is provided by third parties, their availability and terms may apply.

11. Photography & Video

  • Photography or video may be taken during hosted experiences for promotional or social media use.
  • Please tell us before your session begins if you do not wish to appear in photos or video.
  • Fish photographs must follow fish care guidance.

12. Liability

  • Guests attend and fish at their own risk.
  • Wormit Trout Fishery is not liable for injury, loss or damage except where caused by proven negligence.
  • Guests are responsible for personal belongings, clothing and equipment brought on site.

13. Lost Property

  • Lost property will be held for up to 30 days where practical.
  • Collection must be arranged in advance.

14. Prohibited Items

  • No bait fishing equipment, spinning gear, firearms, drones or non-fly-fishing equipment without prior approval.
  • No outside fish, bait or aquatic material may be brought onto site.

15. Complaints & Feedback

  • Please raise any issue during your visit so we have the opportunity to help at the time.
