Cool & Consistent Sport at Wormit
Steady returns again this week with the best of the sport in the mornings and evenings. As expected, the hot spell over the weekend made midday fishing tougher, but those who adjusted still caught well.
What’s working: Diawl Bachs, buzzers, blobs, black snakes and dries — especially foam daddies and yellow owls. The boreholes have been running; the loch is full and most evenings we’ve had the East Coast haar keeping things relatively cool. Water temperature is holding bang on 16.5 °C with a light easterly.
Fishery Updates
- Large stocking today: a bumper top-up to compliment the already big head of fish. Average size is just over 2 lb (growth has been slower in the heat at our supplier), but numbers are excellent and they’re lively.
- Banks reinforced: bridge area, bottom bay and the lagoon have been gravelled. The far bank still floods slightly mid‑section — that’s the next area to be finished.
Availability & What’s On

- Evening rods: may open up on the day — message me on the day if you’re keen.
- This Sunday: we’re hosting Blair & Euan from Fluff Flingers (YouTube). Expect banter, decent fishing, and some camera time:

Owner’s Advice
- Approach: washing‑line by day, dries morning/evening. With fresh fish in, don’t be shy of a hot‑head damsel.
- Keep moving: cover water and fish the conditions in front of you.
- Fish care: barbless only, keep fish in the water, quick unhooking.
- At the hut: complimentary cold drinks, tea & coffee.
- Wormit Fly Box: our 74‑fly selection for £65 — ask at the hut.
