If you’ve been waiting for a sign to fish Wormit, this is it. The loch is in perfect late summer form: 16.7 °C water, excellent clarity with a touch of Lake Shadow, and trout feeding confidently from dawn until dusk. Anglers are catching all day if they fish smart, match the hatch, or stalk active fish.
🎯 My Choice Setup
- Lines: Floating or 3ft midge tip
- Leader: 12–15ft (6ft to top dropper, 3ft between droppers)
- Flies: Buzzers, Diawl Bachs, Crunchers, FABs (Olive, Black, Biscuit), Foam Daddies, Mini Cats in evening
- Retrieve: Dead slow for nymphs; fast strips for lures
- Tippet: 7.5lb Grand Max
- Rod: 5–6 weight
Tip: Don’t sit still. The 12-rod cap gives you space — use it to cover ground.
