Membership Waiting List

Membership at Wormit is limited and managed carefully. Join the waiting list for future membership availability and approved regular access to a quiet, well-managed trout fishery where space, fish care and standards come first.

Membership at Wormit

Membership at Wormit is not a general season ticket or an open discount scheme.

It is a controlled access option for regular anglers who understand the standards of the water, respect fish care, rotate fairly, and value the calm, lightly fished character of the fishery.

To protect the quality of the fishing, membership places are limited and managed carefully. New places are released only when there is suitable capacity, so we now operate a waiting list rather than an open purchase model.

Who Membership Is For

  • Regular Wormit anglers who want approved access across the season.
  • Experienced fly anglers who fish independently and follow fishery rules without needing chased.
  • Anglers who value quiet water, fair rotation and proper fish care.
  • People who treat the fishery with respect, including parking, litter, gates, hut use and conduct on the bank.
  • Supporters of the fishery who understand why numbers are controlled and why access is managed carefully.

Why There Is A Waiting List

  • Rod numbers are deliberately controlled to protect space, fishing quality and the calm feel of the water.
  • Membership needs to fit around day rods, evening rods, private groups and hosted experiences.
  • We avoid overcrowding, even when demand is strong.
  • Members are expected to follow a higher standard of fish care, etiquette and site conduct.
  • New places are released selectively when suitable capacity becomes available.

Wormit Trout Fishery – Membership Standards

To be read with the Main Fishery Rules & Guidelines.

These standards are not red tape. They are what keep Wormit quiet, well-managed and fishing at its best.

Core Membership Standards

  1. No Code Sharing
    • Rule: Any approved member code is personal and must never be shared, loaned or used to book for anyone else.
    • Why: Controlled access protects the water, prevents crowding and keeps the fishing first-class.
  2. Advance Booking Only
    • Rule: Every visit must be booked online in advance using the correct booking route or approved code.
    • Why: It lets us know who is on the water, keeps the fishery secure and supports stocking, maintenance and safety planning.
  3. Dawn-to-Dusk Day Sessions
    • Rule: A full-day booking runs from dawn until dusk. No split visits or rod sharing.
    • Why: It keeps the system simple, fair and built on trust.
  4. Barbless Hooks Only
    • Rule: Barbless or de-barbed hooks must be used at all times.
    • Why: Faster, cleaner releases and better sport for the next angler.
  5. Fish Care Comes First
    • Rule: Keep fish in the net and in the water wherever possible. Use wet hands, handle quickly, and release fish cleanly.
    • Why: Good fish care protects the stock, the sport and the reputation of the fishery.
  6. Respect Quiet Water
    • Rule: No excessive noise, litter, closed-peg access or behaviour that affects other anglers.
    • Why: People come to Wormit for space, calm water and a better day on the bank.
  7. Fair Use of Membership
    • Rule: Any approved membership is for the named person only. Friends and family must book their own tickets unless agreed in advance.
    • Why: Membership numbers are controlled to prevent overcrowding and protect the water.
  8. Breaches and Sanctions
    • Rule: Repeated or deliberate breaches may lead to suspension, cancellation or refusal of future bookings.
    • Why: The standards protect the fishery and everyone who fishes it properly.

Site Conduct and Housekeeping

  • Parking: Use the anglers’ car park unless otherwise agreed. Blue Badge access can be arranged where suitable.
  • Gates: Close every gate behind you.
  • Hut: Leave the hut clean, tidy and litter-free.
  • Litter: Take all nylon, packaging and rubbish home.
  • Behaviour: Respect fellow anglers, wildlife, farm activity and fishery staff at all times.

Safety and Legal Notices

Fish at your own risk: Angling, bank access and jetty use are undertaken at your own risk. Eye protection is strongly advised.

Alcohol and drugs: No fishing under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Dogs: Dogs may be allowed at the fishery but must be kept under control and cleaned up after.

Data and privacy: Booking and enquiry details are used only to administer the fishery and related enquiries, in line with UK GDPR requirements.
